Having lived in major cities like New York City and Dallas for the majority of my life, I was so happy to find such a hidden jewel of an establishment in the middle of semi-rural Ontario. If you need more of a reference as to my review credentials, I have dined at Michelin Star Restaurants in both Europe and the US. My family is also in the restaurant business. This is the best restaurant in town by miles, and holds its own against any of the overpriced, stuffy ventures in Toronto. The food is exceptional, the restaurant is beautiful yet relaxed, with flickering candle light and books. It’s cozy and refined with elevated dishes that are delicious, filling, and inspired. Many of the local establishments are either overpriced or the food just isn’t good. Try the crispy deviled eggs, or the sausage orichette. I am practically salivating as I type this. The fried apple pie is actually one of the best desserts I have ever had bar none. Bring someone special here or if you are visiting the area. It is a MUST.
We absolutely adored this restaurant, the decor and ambience are beautiful and tasteful and the food is to die for. Every bite was full of flavour and so unique, these dishes are top tier restaurant quality we were very impressed. The service is warm and friendly and we were so happy with our experience. Side note - very accommodating towards celiac/gluten free people!
I am not exaggerating when I say this was the absolute best meal and dinner experience I’ve had in such a long time. The service was so friendly, the atmosphere was romantic and cozy, and the food was phenomenal. Elevated comfort food at its finest. I will be returning, bringing family and recommending to everyone. Thank you so much Elizabeth.
Needs to be !! Excellent service, excellent food, served in a timely manner, super fresh, outstanding!!! Ok, it was so delicious and we were so involved in the meal I forgot to take pictures!! Seriously, if you are in Stratford you NEED to come see chef Brian and all servers like Charlie it’s amazing/spectacular/stupendous!!
You have to eat here! It was hard to decide what not to order. The waiter asked which dishes were our favorite and each time we moved to the next dish they seemed to keep topping the last. So good!!!!! I loved the twists. The twist to top it off was the cheesecake with Chicago popcorn mix. I had to order to try such a unique plate and was so glad I did. Can’t wait to go back!
For our wedding anniversary, my husband and I decided to celebrate with dinner at Elizabeth, and it was an experience we won’t soon forget. From the moment we walked in, the warm, intimate atmosphere made it feel like the perfect place for a special occasion. We started with the duck fat potatoes, which were perfectly crispy and indulgent, followed by the Wagyu meatballs—tender, flavourful, and absolutely delicious. The butter chicken wings were a standout, with the perfect balance of spice and richness. Every bite felt like it had been crafted with care and attention to detail. And then, there was the espresso martini. I still dream about it! Silky smooth, with just the right amount of sweetness and a bold espresso kick—it was the best I’ve ever had. The service was exceptional, with a staff that was both knowledgeable and welcoming, making the evening feel extra special. Every dish was beautifully presented, and the flavours were perfectly balanced, showcasing the restaurant’s dedication to quality ingredients and expert preparation. If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience in Stratford, whether for a special occasion or just to treat yourself, Elizabeth is an absolute must-visit. We’ll definitely be back!
This was the most amazing restaurant! We had a party of six and enjoyed the small plates family style. We tried almost everything on the menu. Our favorites were the beets, Brussels sprouts, and fried deviled eggs. All the food was served on different types of China. The presentation was beautiful. We had the fried apple pie for dessert. It tasted like apple funnel cake. The service was so friendly. One of the best places we've ever been to.
Great restaurant with nice food. I loved the menu when I visited, it was completely different from the example menu online. Wagyu meatballs were great, all flavours in the dish could shine in their own light. Duck confit potato pave was good, but slightly too thick on the layers compared to the other 3 or so times I've had it. The braised short rib stuffed Yorkies were okay, but the barbecue sauce on the side was a bit of a miss. It's very ketchup forward and when combined with the short rib becomes fairly reminiscent of a meatloaf, the beefketchup combo. I would have gone with jus and left it at that, I bet they would have nailed that, too. Creme brulee with raspberries was good, however the layer of sugar was a bit thick and uneven. Plenty of plain white sugar left under the brulee'd layer. It's hard to knock this place, it was an excellent visit and worth the drive.
